Lost In The Woods

Tap-tap-tap.
The rain tapped against the roof of the town houses.
Jack was reading his favourite book, Magic Tree House.
“Hurry! It is midnight already. Don’t read any more. Go to bed instead. ” Jack’s mum said. Jack walked slowly towards his bed. He locked the door, turned off the light. He couldn’t sleep at all so he sat up in bed. When everybody was asleep, he pulled on his rain coat and brought his flashlight. He ran to his balcony and jumped down to the street. He was hurt. Blood went out from his skin but he ignored it. He turned on the flashlight and followed the circle of light down the streets into the woods. The air was breezy and chilly. He shined the flashlight on the trees standing on the ground.
He walked deeper into the woods. No one was there. He sat on the ground for a while. He felt something bad was coming. He tried to walk out of the woods, but he couldn’t. He was frightened. He missed his parents and sister, Annie. “Where are you, Dad? If you heard me, please reply!” he cried.
But nobody heard this.
Everything was quiet.
Absolutely quiet.

Jack was thirsty. He tried to find a pond, but there was none. When he was walking on the dirt path, a slinging rope ladder hit his head. Then he looked up. Oh! High in the tree was a tree house. He grabbed the ladder and started up. He climbed into the tree house. A lady was waiting for him.
Jack said, ‘ Who are you?’
‘ My name is Morgan Le Fay. I am an angel. I always help people, so I am called “Kind Morgan”. This time I am going to help you. How can I help you?’
Jack said he needed to go home. He sat on Morgan’s back. Morgan fluttered her wings and flew to Jack’s bedroom.
When he arrived, he thanked Morgan. After Jack was saved, he told this story to neighbour.
Although no one believed him, he still told it to many people, even to the king of England.
