Xiang Dao Chinese Chess Competition
I had a Chinese chess competition this Saturday on 14th March,2014. Sad news is that my school lost.
At the previous night before the competition on Friday, I suffered from gastroenteritis. I dined at Pizza Hut, an Italian restaurants, at noon. A few hours later, symptoms of gastroenteritis appeared. I had an awful pain on my stomache. During night, I vomitted twice. I had no strength left.
There was a Chinese chess competition on Saturday. I had been to Kowloon Tong early in the morning at eight-thirty. With my dizzy head, I have to combat sleepiness while competing against my opponent.
On the first round, I lost. At the beginning, I had one more “horse”(similar to Knight in chess) that my opponent did. Yet, I had a serious headache when our game had lasted for more than 30 minutes. I won three games and lost two in a total of 5 games.
Our team captain (right with black jacket below) had no loss in all his games. He had one draw and four wins.
In this competition, we could not even enter the finals. This is the very first time since 2011. Jeff Chan, the team captain, was upset. Actually, it is not his fault. The major culprit is …
